Sea, Deserts, Resorts 'n Ruins of Mexico

The Shimmering blue and green Caribbean, resorts of Cancun, ancient ruins of Tulum and Chichen Itza, in the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico are frequented tourist hotspots. Los Cabos south of California is another one.
This page will eventually cover the tourist areas of Cancun, Playa Del Carmen, Cozumel, Tulum in the Yucatan peninsula. And Los Cabos in the Baja peninsula. |

Many people visit Cancun, Playa Del Carmen and Cozumel in the Yucatan Peninsula (highlighted on the map), home to the Mayan ruins like Chichén Itzá and Tulum, sink holes, and beautiful but often crowded beaches . Very often people stay in all-inclusive resorts where there is no dearth for good vegetarian food in the extensive spreads that are put out every day. In fact, it is a food feast/coma and is hard to get out to do the sights. This page does not currently offer a list of restaurants because the places were visited in 2003, much before I thought about doing this blog . We stayed at a resort and lunch was the only meal we had outside of the resort when we were out sightseeing. I will leave this page for other readers and will be grateful for their contribution, along with giving them credit for the same.

Sinkholes or Cenotes are formed by natural phenomenon….one can actually swim in it

The Great Ball Court – where athletes hit the ball through the hoop on the wall. Heads rolled after the game (as per the guide).

The desert of Chihuahua, the Sonoran Desert near Arizona, raw beauty of their own.
Below old pictures from 1999, Organ Pipe National Park in Arizona, a trip to the Sonoran desert, followed by a curious drive in and out of that part of Mexico. Our first child, the 2 year old at that time, deserved extra hugs who trooped along without complaint during the entire trip to different parts of Arizona.

With my 2 year old who sportily and happily traveled everywhere with no complaint.
